Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Final Stand: Heart of the Grove ("the game") collects, why, and what you can do about it. It covers the game on iPhone and iPad, Android, macOS and Windows.
1. What we collect
An anonymous player account. When you start the game, Unity Gaming Services (UGS) signs you in anonymously and creates a random player ID. You never need to give us your real name, email address or password. If you choose to link your progress to a Unity Player Account so it follows you across devices, Unity holds that account, including the email address you sign in with, under Unity's own privacy policy; we only receive the linked player ID. On iPhone and iPad you can instead use Sign in with Apple: we do not ask Apple for your name or email address, and we only receive an Apple-issued user identifier that keeps your progress linked. Deleting your account also revokes the Sign in with Apple link.
Your game profile. We store your progress on UGS Cloud Save under your player ID: heroes and cosmetics you own, currency balances (Grove Marks and Amber), best waves, achievements, settings, and the record of runs you have started and finished (used to award rewards fairly and prevent cheating).
Your nickname and friend tag. The nickname you choose and your friend tag (for example Name#1234) are visible to other players on leaderboards, in friends lists, in party lobbies and in chat.
Leaderboards. Your nickname, score, wave reached, hero played and player ID are stored on UGS Leaderboards and shown to other players.
Friends and parties. If you use friends and online play, UGS Friends and UGS Lobby/Relay process your friend list, friend requests, invitations, blocks, presence (online / in menu / in match) and the party you are in.
Chat. Text chat and quick messages you send in online matches are relayed through the match host to the players in that match. We do not keep a log of chat. A basic profanity filter runs on messages.
Player reports. If you report a player, or another player reports you, we store the report so we can review it: both players' player IDs and nicknames, the reason, an optional short note, the last few chat messages from that match, the match ID and the game version. Reports are kept for up to 180 days and then deleted.
Voice chat. If you turn on your microphone in an online match, your voice is transmitted in real time to your teammates through Unity Vivox. Voice is not recorded or stored by us. The microphone is off by default every match and is used only while you have it switched on.
Purchases. When you buy something with real money, the purchase is processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play (or Steam on desktop). We never see or store your payment card details. We receive the store's signed transaction record (product, transaction ID, date, and for subscriptions the renewal/expiry status) and verify it with Apple or Google so we can credit your purchase exactly once and handle refunds.
Downloaded content. Hero and map content is downloaded from Unity Cloud Content Delivery. Like any download, the content server receives your IP address and basic request information.
Approximate region. Unity's online services estimate your approximate region from your IP address so they can connect you to a nearby server. We do not collect your precise location.
Technical data. When online features are used, UGS and our game server receive your IP address, the game version and platform, and error information needed to keep online play working. Unity's service libraries in the game (including Vivox voice chat and Authentication) also collect device identifiers, crash, performance and diagnostic data, and basic usage data needed to run and improve those services. We do not use advertising identifiers, we show no ads, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
2. Why we use it
- To run the game and save your progress across sessions and devices.
- To provide online play, friends, parties, chat, voice chat and leaderboards.
- To review player reports and keep online play safe.
- To credit purchases, handle refunds and prevent fraud and cheating.
- To fix bugs and keep online services secure and working.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Who processes it
- Unity Technologies (Authentication, Cloud Save, Cloud Code, Leaderboards, Friends, Lobby/Relay, Vivox, Cloud Content Delivery) acts as our service provider. See https://unity.com/legal/privacy-policy.
- Apple, Google and Valve process purchases under their own privacy policies.
- Other players see the information described above as public (nickname, friend tag, leaderboard entries, chat and voice in matches you join).
Data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States and the European Union, where Unity's services operate.
4. How long we keep it
Your profile, purchases and leaderboard entries are kept while your account exists. Purchase records may be kept longer where required for accounting, tax or fraud-prevention purposes. Player reports, including the chat messages attached to them, are kept for up to 180 days and then deleted. When you delete your account, reports you filed and reports about you are deleted too. Voice is not recorded or stored, and chat is not logged apart from report snapshots.
5. Your choices and rights
- Delete your data: Settings → Account → Delete Account permanently deletes your profile, owned items, currency balances, leaderboard entries and friend data. You can also email us at the address below and we will delete it for you. Purchases cannot be restored after deletion.
- Access or correct your data: email us and we will provide a copy or correct it.
- Voice chat: keep your microphone off, or mute other players, at any time.
- Blocking and reporting: block other players from Friends → Blocked, and report a player from party chat or the match results screen.
- Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights to access, delete, correct or restrict processing of your data. Contact us to exercise them.
6. Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with Unity's protected services. Purchase and currency changes are verified on our server, not on your device.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. We will change the effective date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the game.
